Our speakers will be: Manar Salamah, Farnaz Tehranchi, and Sojung Jung

About the Speakers:

Manar Salamah is from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She is married and has four kids, three boys and one girl.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah and a master’s degree from Pittsburg State University in Human resource development, management and consulting. She also has an MBA from Pittsburg State. She is currently pursuing a PHD in workforce education development with an emphasis in human resource development organization development.

Farnaz Tehranchi received her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering

at Penn State. She is a PostDoc researcher in the Dynamic Decision-Making Lab at Carnegie Mellon University. Her research is focused on cognitive computing at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction and Cognitive Science.

Sojung Jung is a 4th year doctoral student with an interest in the improvement of transition skills (e.g.., functional life skills, vocational training) and communication skills for students with developmental disabilities. Before starting the doctoral program at Penn State in 2017, Sojung worked for over 5 years as a special education teacher in South Korea, especially for students with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Sojung's husband is also a doctoral student in Life Sciences at Penn State.
