International education is all about expanding horizons, making connections, and establishing mutual understanding between people in the United States and other countries. This year International Education Week is celebrated the18-22 of November.
On the afternoon of Wednesday, November 20, 5:00 PM, Global Connections will host a digital dialogue featuring two high school exchange students in our area schools, both of whom are on programs sponsored by the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs
Austeja Straseviciute from Lithuania, attends Bald Eagle Area High School. She is in the US on the Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX)
Hiba El Annasi from Morocco, attends Bellefonte High School. She is on the Youth Exchange and Study (YES) program.
Bob Persiko will moderate the program. Each student will give a 15-minute presentation on her country followed by audience Q & A. Bob was the Chief of the Youth Programs Division at the State Department when the FLEX and YES programs were created.
